The Illusion Gaming System
The Illusion is a table top role-playing system that I'm currently developing. It's going to be an open system, using a dice rolling system that I'm calling the Illusionary system. Dice include D6, D8, D10 & D12 and different situations will cause you to roll different dice. I'm using a spin on Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence's to design the skill system. While it's more an imaginative system, meaning not meant specifically for mats, The Illusion will include special rules for different styles of mat use. While the core book will provide everything you need to play the game, there will be four Genre based gaming settings that will provide special rule alterations and character build options. There will also be special character portfolio's and a book for designing Monsters, complete with examples.
Gaming SettingsThe World of Domi
A High Fantasy setting of my own creation. This setting uses languages from our own world to add connection to the setting. I have a series of novels and short stories that will be a part of this setting. There are four major continents found across the globe, Pandora being the one the first setting book will address. Each land has it's own history, though they all have a connection to each other. All except the Mysterious East. This is a low magic setting in appearance, though powerful magic exists in the background. The first setting book will be released with the Secret of the Ages book. The whole setting is going to be tied in with my own personal gaming system that I'm working on creating. I have a few other game setting idea's though those will come in time. If you're interested in helping out with this project, let me know. Many Parts
The nights are cold and dark, and we have learned to fear them in our infancy. In our adolescents, we learn to push aside those fears to explore and try to understand. In adult hood, we learn to forget, to turn a blind eye to the mysterious and unexplainable. The truth, our world is connected and intertwined with a multitude of other worlds. Each one of these worlds exist separately, though each of these worlds have an effect on the others. The larger the event, the larger the effect on other lands. In these other worlds, fairies, elves, goblins, dragons, vampires, and all sorts of other things exist. Magic runs wild in some, while others flutter on the edge of existence. They are all connected, some easier to cross the boundaries than others. Some exist to see through to other worlds, while others are blind to the ones that share their space. Some are so linked, they are like opposite sides of a coin, while others don't appear to have anything to do with another. This setting will link in with many different worlds, showing how the different lands connect, play in and interfere with our modern world. How does the land of vampires play with mortal world? How do fairies use our world as a barrier and battle ground between their world and the world of the goblins? What of Angels and Demons, are they really something divine, or just creatures from another world, linked through the threads of space and time with our own world. |
Eternal Space This setting will be a MASSIVE undertaking. I have already started working out idea's for dozens of races, organizations, corporations, galactic locations, space ships and even have five different forms of space travel. This will be probably my largest project for gaming settings for the Illusion system. This project is still very much in it's infancy, working out many of the fine details as I go ahead. I'm always looking for interested parties that want to work on this or any of my other gaming endeavors. As space is epic, I aim for this project to be epic. I want this galaxy to feel real, alive and complete. To give you an idea for what I'm planning on, I want at least fifty races (while not all will be playable, right away...) and for each race I want to create 3-5 different corporations and/or organizations that exist on a galactic scale. Then create 5-8 corporations/organizations that are galactic wide and independent from any specific race. (Cyberpunk setting)
A Project that I wish to work on, still finishing the details. |
